Being good or doing good works: that is the question. Or perhaps the question is what is defined as good works? Is it only helping an individual or is it helping an organization that helps individuals? Is it helping the environment or a process? When I volunteer and do office work at the Falls is that good works? When my daughter goes out and protests the war, is that good works? When my husband works for "no on the amendment or public radio" is that good works? When we give and help out at our church, is that good works, or is it only good works if those actions directly help others and not us?
I finally sent my postcard out to the Shetterly ranch yesterday. I am such a procrastinator. He probably won't select it, but at least I sent something and he got a nice card of the Falls out of it. My husband told me the animal I reminded him of is a pregnant basset hound. I kind of like that, and I can truly identify with it. He thought I might be insulted, but I can see it. Lazy, large bellied, large ears (well my hair looks like that sometimes) and then sometimes running after game and sometimes mean, fiercely protective of family. Yeah, that’s me a pregnant bitch.
Only two students in class tonight. Tuesday I had seven. Yesterday I had seven. You never know what it will be like here. What mysterious forces cause adults to come to class or skip it? Could it be the moon or weather? You never know.
