It has been a while since I have updated. I wrote a 2 page technology newsletter and sent it out to the staff. The principal complemented me on it and wanted a copy to send to the higher ups.
The state legislature may take away our funding (so what else is news). This time it is a little different since the republicans are in power and the Governor's wife is friends with the president of the local Jr. College/Technical School. The Jr. College basically wants our funds. We are asking everyone to write letters to keep our program. I am not sure these letters make a difference, but you never know.
It seems that when I taught middle school I had a student who sucked his/her thumb every year. This year I have a 17 year old who sucks his thumb! That's scary. And while on the topic of the habits of adolescents I am amazed that they are not all deaf. The headphones that they wear constantly are so loud that you can hear them across the room.
I have to get my enrollment up so excuse me, I'm off to make some phone calls.
