It's been a while since I have written here. I've really been too busy. Relatives came and went, work has been full and church has had one drama after another, and they still continue. I need to take care of me and I haven't been. I think I've gained a few pounds and I've been hurting a lot from the stress. I have a Arthritis doctor appointment tomorrow and I hope he can give me some new medicine since they took my stand by off of the market.

Today I substituted down the hall and missed going to the Falls as a result. Since I have been there five days out of the last seven I think they will forgive me. What I learned today by substituting is that a lot of people around here don't do their jobs. While some of us are busting our butts to get things done for these students there are several here who are doing the minimum required to collect a paycheck. I should not be surprised, because I know that goes on everywhere. One special education teacher spends a good portion of her day smoking. (A couple of facilitators do so as well.) Some of the teachers don't ask the students to do what is asked of in our system, so basically the students are cheating and getting away with it. Our counselor thinks that he is already overworked (which from what I can tell he isn't), so he can't do all the duties that are assigned. So other people have to catch them for him. Yet we also have teachers in this building who do so much and work so hard, you just wouldn't believe it. Everyone in regular GED and our new Success director are fantastic. I think the next time I write in here, I'll put a few memoirs about my days in the Texas teaching system and some of the idiots I ran into there.
