We have a 2 hour delay today due to snow. Actually it was not hard to drive at all. Hubby came by to get a stapler from me to give to a teacher at the school he is substituting at today. He was substituting there a couple of weeks ago and the stapler he was using wouldn't staple so he slammed it. It broke and the teacher told him that he would have to replace it. I think that is ridiculous, but he feels responsible. We can't afford for him to buy a new one (which she wanted) but I have bought so many staplers over the 20 years that I have been teaching that I have several. He really doesn't like getting stuck in those resource (special education) rooms but they seem to be the ones they need substitutes most for. They also must think he can handle it or they wouldn't keep giving him those assignments.

Our special education teacher is also not here yet so 3 of her students are in my room. I just had a new student come and one of my regulars just came in late. So right now I have 8 students in my room with 4 absences. (She finally arrived at 10:40a) She should have been here at 10 on a 2 hour delay.

I am still in transition from the old teacher. Many students know her and want to see her and I am still learning the ropes. There are some courses that she never made course outlines for. She just told the students what to do and they did it. I have tried to be more formal by putting these requirements in writing.
