A student came in who hasn’t been here in months. He came in to take his final. He had been removed from the system. I put him and his course back into the system. Then I checked. The other teacher had given him his midterm without checking to see that he had passed all of the work before the midterm. He hadn’t. Then the other teacher set the final. The power then went out. The student left because of the power outage. His final was left up. Later I found this and deleted the entire course. When the student came back I had to reset the final and saw the discrepancies. I see so much of this I wonder. If I did an audit of his other classes what would I find? How many of his students are cheating? What about the other teachers? I know I have found evidence of lazy grading in those classes as well. What, if anything, do I do about it?

This student is nearly falling asleep in his chair. What to do?

I called every student that I had a white sheet for yesterday that has not been coming regularly. Eleven students are here so far on a day when normally no one shows. The two Hispanic girls that are always talking are still at it. At least they are being somewhat quiet. One girl who hasn’t come in a while announced that she had gone into early labor and that is why she hasn’t been here. I also learned that another student is pregnant who is in the ofs2 program. No one bothered to tell me, but she said no one knew.
